Russian Ambassador in the US on Nuclear Weapons Use
The Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the United States, Anatoly Antonov, stated that Russia does not intend to and is not planning to use nuclear weapons in Ukraine, and that no officials from the country have announced such a possibility. This was reported by RIA Novosti, citing Newsweek.
“We have repeatedly stated that Russia is not prepared and will not prepare to use nuclear weapons in Ukraine. None of our country’s officials or military leaders have ever mentioned the possibility of resorting to weapons of mass destruction,” Antonov said.
The ambassador added that the West is not responding to Russia’s warnings about the imminent provocation involving Ukraine's use of a 'dirty bomb'.
