Conscripts Will Not Be Involved in Ukraine Military Operations: Russian Armed Forces General Staff

Conscripts will not be involved in the special military operation in Ukraine and will be able to go home after their discharge. This was announced by Deputy Head of the Organizational and Mobilization Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, Rear Admiral Vladimir Tsymlyansky, as reported by RIA Novosti.

According to the published decree, the autumn draft will begin on November 1. Tsymlyansky urged the parents of conscripts not to worry about their sons. He said that one year after the draft, they would be welcomed back as strengthened and true defenders of their homeland.

“I want to reassure the conscripts and their parents and remind them that citizens called for military service will not be involved in the special military operation in Ukraine, and all servicemen whose service period has ended will be discharged and sent to their places of residence on time,” Tsymlyansky stated.

He emphasized that there is no need to fear the draft, but it should be prepared for.

According to the decree, from November 1 to December 31, 2022, the Russian Armed Forces plan to call up 120,000 people for military service. Additionally, from October 1, soldiers, sailors, sergeants, and corporals whose military service period has expired will be discharged.
