Armenia Must Be Strong, India Will Do Everything Possible: Indian Ambassador to Armenia
I, along with my colleagues, witnessed the destruction that has occurred. The Ambassador of India to Armenia, Kishan Dan Deval, stated in an interview with NEWS.am after visiting Gegharkunik Province today, where he familiarized himself with the consequences of Azerbaijani aggression alongside other accredited ambassadors.
“Our position has been clear from the beginning and was publicly stated in an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council, where our permanent representative called for the aggressor to immediately cease military operations and maintain the ceasefire. In general, during the Security Council meeting, the Indian representative condemned the aggressor in the strongest terms; our stance was unequivocal and very clear,” he said.
When asked about the effectiveness of these statements in deterring Azerbaijan, the ambassador stated that he could not answer that question. “I can only say that India will do everything possible within the framework of international law and norms. I believe the answer to your question is that Armenia must be strong,” he added.
Earlier, it was reported that India signed a significant order for the export of shells, missiles, and ammunition to Armenia, as the Asian nation is engaged in a prolonged border conflict with neighboring Azerbaijan. This was reported by EconomicTimes, referencing DefenceIndia (India's Ministry of Defence).
