Biden's Message to Pashinyan
On the occasion of the Independence Day of the Republic of Armenia, the President of the United States, Joseph Biden, sent a congratulatory message to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. The message states:
“On behalf of the United States of America, I extend my warm congratulations to the Armenian people on the occasion of Independence Day. We will continue to support the democratic aspirations, sovereignty, and security of the Armenian people. On September 21, we join the Armenian people in celebrating your commitment to democracy and the strong bonds between our countries and peoples. The recent military actions underscore the need to double our diplomatic efforts so that Armenia can look towards a prosperous and peaceful future, which includes the resolution of relations with its neighbors. We express our condolences for the victims of the recent attacks. We greatly appreciate your support for efforts to establish greater stability in the region. We remain committed to working with you and other parties to support a peaceful resolution to the conflict, including for the people of Nagorno-Karabakh.
This year, the renewal of U.S.-Armenia strategic dialogue reaffirmed our joint commitment to strengthening ties in our bilateral relations and highlighted the United States' support for Armenia's democratic trajectory. The United States stands by Armenia as you continue to work towards combating corruption, developing accountable institutions, strengthening the rule of law, and reinforcing respect for human rights. Our joint efforts over the past year have continued to strengthen and deepen the ties between our peoples. I wish the entire Armenian people a safe and peaceful Independence Day.”
