Aviation Transport in Russia Is at Risk, Says Putin
During a meeting with the government, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that the domestic air transportation sector is under threat due to sanctions imposed against Russia. He emphasized that the situation has deteriorated in the context of "disproportionate sanctions" and the decisions made by "our former Western partners." His remarks were cited by RIA Novosti.
"Former partners, because they refuse to work with us," said Putin.
He highlighted that the aviation industry is of strategic importance to the country as it fosters the development of high-tech products and creates jobs while also playing an "important role in ensuring transportation accessibility."
