What to Expect from Russia-Iran Cooperation: Peskov
Russia's cooperation with Iran is not episodic, but rather a long-term trajectory that focuses on the future and a strong present, according to Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the Russian president.
“Cooperation with Iran is not episodic; it is a long-term line in our foreign policy,” Peskov stated during a broadcast on Channel One, as reported by RIA Novosti. He added that this cooperation is directed towards the future, has a “strong past,” and a “strong present.”
“And it can only be based on mutual benefit,” the press secretary emphasized.
When asked whether Russia and Iran would sign a comprehensive cooperation agreement today, Peskov responded negatively, adding that the document is expected to be signed in the coming months.
