Russia is not chasing anyone: Lavrov comments on Western countries and Johnson's resignation
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has commented on the resignation of British Prime Minister Boris Johnson. According to Lavrov, Johnson aimed to isolate Russia, which ultimately led to his own intra-party isolation.
“Johnson has proven through his entire career that he is someone who has seized power in order to boost his political career by any means,” Lavrov stated.
He also criticized Western countries for not understanding the rules of courtesy and etiquette, which he believes was reflected in the absence of representatives from Western nations during the opening reception of the G20 leaders' consultation.
Commenting on reports about the cancellation of the traditional ministerial photo opportunity, Sergey Lavrov clarified that no one was invited to take a photo, emphasizing that Russia is “not chasing anyone.”
