What Goals Does Azerbaijan Have According to Hokhikyan

“Azerbaijan's goal is Berdzor, which has significant importance as it controls Artsakh from four sides: one side from Shushi, and the other from the upper and lower parts of Kashatagh and the Goris region of Syunik. The Azerbaijanis can monitor those areas with devices,” said Nairi Hokhikyan, a representative of the Liberation Movement, in an interview with 24News.

“Pashinyan cast the fate of the residents of Aghavno into the pocket of Artsakh's authorities, saying they'd handle it, but there is still an opportunity to hold onto Aghavno. The rights of the residents must become a subject of discussion for the international community,” he added.

According to Hokhikyan, gas supply pipelines pass through Berdzor, and there are critical infrastructures that could present security issues.
