More than 30 anti-crisis decisions adopted, says Putin
During an online meeting of the Eurasian Economic Supreme Council, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced, "Since March 2022, the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) has adopted more than 30 anti-crisis decisions aimed at mitigating the effects of restrictions and strengthening macroeconomic stability to support businesses and citizens."
According to Putin, since March, three packages of measures have been established in the customs sector aimed at eliminating customs duties on imports of more than 1,600 goods. As a result, the savings for importers could amount to around $800 million over the next six months.
The Russian president also noted that to curb inflation, the EEC had decided to eliminate customs duties on goods valued up to €1,000 for personal use.
Furthermore, he addressed the issue of food security, stating that the member countries of the union fully meet the internal market's demand through domestic food production.
