Europe Must Convince Kyiv to Accept Russia's Terms, Says Silvio Berlusconi
Former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi believes that Europe must persuade the Ukrainian authorities to accept Russia's demands for conflict resolution.
“We need to achieve peace as soon as possible. I think a united Europe should present a peace proposal, trying to compel the Ukrainians to accept Putin's suggestions,” Berlusconi stated in Naples, where he leads the 'Forza Italia' party.
Berlusconi argues that sending weapons to Ukraine makes Italy a participant in the conflict. “If we have to send weapons, it’s better not to advertise it at least,” the former Prime Minister said.
Previously, Berlusconi called sending heavy weapons to Ukraine a misstep.
