Scholz Discusses Conversation with Putin and Moscow's Position on Ukraine
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz stated that during a recent phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, he did not see Moscow's willingness to change its stance on Ukraine. “No,” Scholz remarked in an interview published on Saturday by the t-online news portal, responding to a question about whether he had noticed any changes in Russia's position regarding Ukraine.
The Chancellor emphasized that Moscow has not achieved any of the goals outlined at the beginning of the military special operation. Furthermore, he mentioned that “NATO has not withdrawn but has instead increased its forces on the eastern flank.” In his opinion, the North Atlantic Alliance will become stronger when Finland and Sweden join.
