Sources Familiar with Putin's Plans Reveal What the Russian President Wants to Achieve
Russian President Vladimir Putin has lost interest in resolving the conflict in Ukraine through diplomatic means and instead seems to want to capture as much Ukrainian territory as possible. This is reported by the Financial Times, citing three sources familiar with the Russian president's plans.
According to the publication's sources, after the Russian army's failures at the beginning of the war, Putin seriously considered the possibility of a peaceful settlement; however, he currently does not see any prospects for this. The sinking of the 'Moscow' cruiser has also contributed to Putin's shift in stance, which has angered him, the sources told FT.
