Former Minister Seyran Ohanyan Summoned for Questioning Again

The newspaper "Zhoghovourd" reports that, according to their information, the former Minister of Defense and leader of the "Armenia" faction in the National Assembly, Seyran Ohanyan, has been summoned again to the Investigative Committee as a witness for questioning.

According to sources, he is being questioned in relation to criminal cases involving several former and current military officers of the Ministry of Defense. Specific inquiries are being made regarding the military personnel, commanders, and their actions during the war.

For instance, the case against former deputy chief of the General Staff, Andranik Makaryan, is being investigated in the military investigative department of the Investigative Committee, as well as the case concerning the explosion of the vehicle of the commander of the Armenian Ground Forces, Jalal Harutyunyan, and several other military-related actions.

It is not excluded that Seyran Ohanyan is being summoned in relation to these and other cases involving officials.

It is worth noting that on March 8, we reported that, according to information from the "Zhoghovourd" newspaper, in 2022, Seyran Ohanyan, the former Minister of Defense and leader of the "Armenia" faction in the National Assembly, appeared for questioning in the Investigative Committee’s Department for Particularly Important Cases. We learned that he is being invited for questioning regarding various criminal cases and is being interrogated in the capacity of a witness as a former minister.

Additionally, Seyran Ohanyan currently holds the status of a suspect in a case being investigated by the Anti-Corruption Committee concerning the company "Zorakheq" LLC. He has been offered to agree to dismiss the case based on the statute of limitations, but Seyran Ohanyan refuses, leaving the criminal case unresolved.

In a conversation with "Zhoghovourd," Seyran Ohanyan confirmed that he has been questioned at the Investigative Committee as a witness and that he will soon again appear for questioning in this capacity.
