Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry Responds to Armenia's Foreign Ministry
The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry has called on Armenia to fulfill its obligations within the framework of trilateral statements. This was stated by the head of the ministry's press service, Leyla Abdulayeva, in response to a statement from Armenia's Foreign Ministry regarding gas supply in Artsakh.
According to minval.az, Abdulayeva stated that Armenia's Foreign Ministry is trying to interfere in Azerbaijan's internal affairs, and that such an attempt was made days ago regarding the participation of international organizations in an event held within "Azerbaijan's territory" (referring to the recent event in Shushi involving UN representatives).
"We advise Armenia to ensure the fulfillment of its obligations regarding trilateral statements, including the withdrawal of remaining armed forces stationed in the region, thereby contributing to regional peace and security, and to avoid making unfounded statements. The constant manifestation of Armenia's unconstructive approach and making baseless claims reveal this country's real intentions. We recommend that Armenia, instead of presenting unfounded and illegal demands, focus on fulfilling its obligations stemming from the trilateral statement by ensuring the withdrawal of remaining armed forces from Azerbaijani territory, thereby contributing to regional peace and security," said Abdulayeva.
It should be reminded that a day earlier, the Armenian Foreign Ministry had released a statement noting that the supply of natural gas from Armenia to Nagorno-Karabakh has again been disrupted due to clear interference by the Azerbaijani side in the territory adjacent to Shushi, which is under Azerbaijani control. Thus, in unprecedented snowy conditions and extremely cold weather, approximately 120,000 residents of Nagorno-Karabakh have been deprived of essential gas supply.
