Kadyrov Claims Mariupol Almost Under Russian Control

The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, has announced that virtually the entire area of Mariupol is under the control of the Russian armed forces. This was reported by РИА Новости.

"The city of Mariupol is gradually being cleansed of nationalist excesses; almost the entire area of the city is already under the control of the Russian armed forces," wrote Kadyrov on his Telegram channel.

He noted that the fighters of the 'Azov' battalion (against whom a criminal case has been initiated in Russia) and their associates are "waiting for their inevitable death behind the thick walls of the Azovstal metallurgical plant."
