Will Putin and Zelensky Meet? Peskov Comments
Following the negotiations in Belarus, the assumption of a possible meeting between the presidents of Russia and Ukraine, Vladimir Putin and Vladimir Zelensky, is premature, stated Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the Russian president.
"It is still too early to draw such conclusions," he said in a comment to RIA Novosti, responding to a question about the statement made by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.
Earlier, the Belarusian leader mentioned that Russian-Ukrainian negotiations could lead to a meeting between Putin and Zelensky.
The talks between Russia and Ukraine took place on February 28 in the Gomel region of Belarus and lasted about five hours. According to Vladimir Medinsky, an advisor to the Russian president, the participants of the dialogue managed to find some points that could potentially lead to a common position.
