Roskomnadzor Bans Referring to the Ukrainian War as a War; Russian Authorities Threaten to Block Media Outlets
Roskomnadzor has approached ten Russian media outlets, demanding the removal of articles concerning the actions of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in Ukraine and has announced the initiation of an administrative investigation, warning of potential accountability.
According to the agency, under the guise of “reliable information,” these resources have published inaccurate information that does not correspond to reality regarding the shelling of Ukrainian cities and the resulting deaths of civilian population by the Russian Armed Forces. Furthermore, there are materials that refer to the ongoing actions as an attack, invasion, or declaration of war.
