Armenia Will Also Join, It Has No Alternatives: Lukashenko

The unification of most post-Soviet countries within the framework of a close alliance focused on collective security and economic integration is inevitable in the next 15 years. This was stated by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko in an interview with the YouTube channel "Solovyov Live."

As reported by the Regnum agency, Lukashenko noted that Belarus's future close union with Russia must necessarily be a union of "sovereign," but "not independent" states. This means maintaining anthems, flags, and leadership, but potentially with a common currency. He also admitted that Belarus cannot be independent from Russia, as it depends on its energy resources and market.

According to him, Belarus is already within this common "security space," while Kazakhstan has received a "good lesson." Lukashenko suggested that Ukraine could also find itself in that space within 15 years if no mistakes are made.

The Belarusian president implied that afterward, other CIS countries would join the unification process. He specifically mentioned Armenia, emphasizing that "the country has no alternative."

Regarding Azerbaijan, Lukashenko remarked that this is already a separate conversation, as Turkey plays a significant role here, greatly assisting Baku. He added, "Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan, I believe, will also join based on their economic necessities."
