It Is Known Which Position the Armenian Skier Held
Mikael Mikaelyan, a member of the Armenian skiing team, began his journey at the 24th Winter Olympic Games in Beijing. Competing under number 57, Mikaelyan participated in the skiathlon event, consisting of a 15 km classic and a 15 km freestyle.
The Armenian skier finished in 47th place. In total, 49 athletes crossed the finish line, while 21 were eliminated from the competition. The Olympic champion in this discipline was Alexander Bolshunov from the Olympic Committee of Russia, who completed the race with a time of 1:16:09. Second place went to Russian Denis Spitsov, while the bronze medal was awarded to Livo Niskanen from Finland.
On February 8, Katya Galstyan will compete in the sprint event, and on February 10, Galstyan along with Angelina Muradyan will participate in the 10 km classic style competition. Mikael Mikaelyan's competition in the 15 km classic style is scheduled for February 15. The other representatives of Armenia, figure skaters Tina Karapetyan and Simon Prulx-Senekal, will start their performance on February 12.
