Armenia's First Representative to Compete in Beijing

Today, February 6, at 11:00 AM Yerevan time, our athlete Mikael Mikaelyan will be the first to start his competitions at the 24th Winter Olympic Games in Beijing. 70 top skiers from 34 countries will compete in the Skiathlon 30km (15km classical style + 15km freestyle) event.

"Only high-ranked athletes are allowed to participate in the Skiathlon, which is considered one of the most spectacular forms of cross-country skiing," wrote Gagik Sargsyan, the president of the Armenian Ski Federation, on his Facebook page.
