Prevented Color Revolution: Lukashenko

Measures taken within the framework of the Collective Security Treaty Organization in Kazakhstan effectively obstructed yet another path towards a color revolution. This was stated by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko during a meeting with peacekeepers arriving from Kazakhstan, as reported by Armenpress.

“The success of your mission can be regarded as the application of an extremely effective mechanism in the fight against so-called color revolutions,” Lukashenko said, according to Belta.

He expressed the view that the threats faced by Kazakhstan are common to post-Soviet countries. “We understand that recent events in our fraternal republic were yet another attempt at external interference aimed at interfering with the internal affairs of independent states,” Lukashenko remarked.

He emphasized that Kazakhstan had faced military aggression from prepared terrorist groups, noting that these groups had previously been trained in various hot spots. It is worth recalling that protests began in several cities of Kazakhstan on January 2, which escalated into mass disturbances over the following days, with attacks on governmental bodies. Thousands have been injured during the unrest, and there have been fatalities.
