We Are Capable of Competing Against These Teams: Mkhitaryan on the Nations League

After the draw for the group stage of the Nations League, the captain of the Armenian national team, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, gave his first comments to the official website of the Football Federation of Armenia.

"I don’t think this is the easiest group, but we could have faced tougher opponents. We know Ireland very well and we can say we have 'very good' memories of them. We will be playing against Scotland for the first time and it won’t be easy either. As for the Ukrainian national team, our team faced them multiple times in the 90s and 2000s, playing 8 matches in total, and although we haven’t been in the same group with them lately, we know the Ukrainians quite well. I believe, and I am confident, that we are capable of competing against these teams and springing surprises. If we can maintain our position in League B, it wouldn’t be a bad result already," Mkhitaryan's words were conveyed by the official website of the Football Federation.

It is noteworthy that the Armenian national team is placed in Group A, where they will compete against the teams of Ireland, Ukraine, and Scotland.
