Russia's Defense Ministry Responds to US Exercises in the Black Sea

The Russian Defense Ministry, commenting on the US exercises in the Black Sea, has stated that it is evident that the study of a potential theater of military operations in the event of an escalation in Donbas is underway.

“Considering that, in addition to the American naval forces, it is planned to involve tactical, patrol, and strategic aviation, as well as the armed forces of Bulgaria, Georgia, Romania, Turkey, and Ukraine in the exercises, it is clear that the preparation for a forceful resolution by Kiev in the southeast entails the examination of the alleged theater of military operations,” the statement reads.

The Russian Defense Ministry emphasized that such actions are destabilizing factors in the Black Sea region and that “one of their objectives is the military seizure of Ukrainian territory.”
