As reported by Eurosport, earlier this month, allegations made by one of his former lovers have embroiled Maradona's name in a new scandal. The woman, named Mavis Alvarez, revealed that when she was 16 years old, Maradona invited her to a hotel and introduced her to drugs.

Mavis claims that she stopped attending school and that the Argentine footballer compelled her to avoid contact with her parents. In 2001, Maradona took her to Buenos Aires, where he kept her in a hotel, allowing her to leave only for trips to the store or the zoo.

She recounted that the former footballer pressured her to alter her physique, subjected her to abuse, and treated her like a slave. Mavis stated that even now, her fear hinders her from speaking out.
