A Coin Featuring Winnie the Pooh Launched

The Royal Mint of Great Britain has introduced a new coin featuring Winnie the Pooh and friends: Piglet, Eeyore, Kangaroo, and little Roo, reports TASS citing the Evening Standard.

The first three coins of a nine-piece series, created in collaboration with the American The Walt Disney Company, were released last year. The first coin depicts Winnie the Pooh with his favorite honey pot.

The series design, according to the Royal Mint, is based on the original sketches of the bear character by artist and book illustrator Ernest Shepard (1879-1976), from the writings of English author A.A. Milne (1882-1956), which was first published in 1926.
