Thousands of Fans Welcome European Champions Italy in Rome

Thousands of fans welcomed the Italian national team, the newly crowned European champions, in Rome. This marks the second time Italy has claimed the title, with the first being in 1968.

By defeating England in the Euro 2020 final (1:1, 3:2 on penalties), Italy extended its unbeaten run to 34 matches, improving their national record. To match the world record, the Italians need one more unbeaten game. Spain went 35 consecutive matches without defeat from 2007 to 2009, a record also held by the Brazilian national team from 1993 to 1996.
