Levon Aronian Lost to Azerbaijani Chess Player and Finished in 4th Place
The Armenian grandmaster Levon Aronian lost in the second match for third place at the online New In Chess Classic chess tournament.
In the first game against Azerbaijani Shakhriyar Mamedyarov, our chess player had an unfortunate start and lost with the white pieces. In the second game, the two players quickly agreed to a draw, while in the third game, Aronian again played poorly with the white pieces and stopped the clock after the 35th move.
Thus, our chess player lost the match with an overall score of 2.5 to 4.5 and finished in 4th place, earning a prize of $6500.
In the final match, world champion Magnus Carlsen and American Hikaru Nakamura are still competing for the top prize.
