A man in Ararat received a two-line note about his wife's infidelity, beat her in a store, and demanded savings. The woman took her own life.
A man's suspicions in the Ararat region ended in a family tragedy. According to "Factinfo," after living together for nearly twenty years, the couple experienced irreconcilable and tense relationships. The man began to suspect his wife of marital infidelity when, in April 2019, he found a note regarding her unfaithfulness wedged in the door mirror of his car, turning his wife's life into a hell.
Following the discovery of the note, the husband exhibited regular violence and degrading behavior towards his wife. On the day he found the note, he went to their grocery store and committed acts of violence against the woman working there, striking her body with candy and eggs arranged on the shop's display cases.
Days later, the man demanded the couple’s savings from his wife. Unable to provide the totals, this only reinforced the husband's doubts that she was unfaithful and had given the savings to her lover. He publicly accused her of infidelity, including in front of their sons and at the store, but the family tragedy did not end there.
Days later, the husband saw a conversation on his wife’s phone with some man, after which he beat her, pulled her clothing, pushed her, and kicked her in the abdomen and head. Three days later, the woman ingested vinegar and died from severe exogenous poisoning of the organism.
According to the investigation body, the woman took such an extreme step due to a state of depression, high tension, and acute frustration.
Within the framework of the criminal case initiated, the husband has been charged under Article 110, part 1, and Article 118 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia for instigating suicide and assault, and he is under a signed commitment not to leave as a measure of restraint. The preliminary investigation has concluded, the prosecutor's office has confirmed the indictment, and the case has been sent to court.
