Why Putin Still Does Not Hold the Rank of General: Peskov Explains
The press secretary of the President of Russia, Dmitry Peskov, explained to reporters why the country's president, Vladimir Putin, still does not hold the rank of general, according to ria.ru.
According to him, the head of state has "undoubtedly earned this rank multiple times," but it is not a priority at the moment.
"He is the president of the country, not a personnel officer," noted the Kremlin representative.
Peskov also clarified that Putin is focused on governing the country. Peskov himself, as it turns out during the briefing, is a senior lieutenant.
