Lavrov and Ayvazyan Discuss the Implementation of Agreements on Nagorno-Karabakh
On February 17, Armenian Foreign Minister A.G. Ayvazyan visited the Russian Federation for a short working trip at the invitation of Russian Foreign Minister S.V. Lavrov, as reported by the Russian Foreign Ministry.
A detailed discussion took place regarding all aspects of the implementation of the agreements made by the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia on November 9, 2020, and January 11, 2021. Special emphasis was placed on the exchange of prisoners of war, humanitarian assistance, and the unblocking of transport connections in the region, including within the context of efforts of the trilateral working group at the level of deputy prime ministers.
It was noted with satisfaction that Russian-Armenian multilateral allied relations continue to develop intensively for the benefit of our countries and peoples, despite the challenges posed by the coronavirus pandemic. An agreement was reached on the necessity of consistently activating bilateral exchanges in parallel with the removal of sanitary restrictions.
Current issues on the regional and international agenda were also discussed, with a focus on the situation prevailing in the Caucasus.
