Defense Ministry, General Staff, and NSS Work on Ensuring Security Environment in Syunik
The third meeting of the working group focusing on issues in Syunik will take place on February 19. The working group is led by the Prime Minister's advisor, Robert Gukasyan. During the government meeting, he noted that the main concern of the population at the moment is ensuring a secure environment, for which the General Staff of the Armed Forces, the Ministry of Defense, and the NSS border troops are working together.
“We are discussing with the Ministry of Emergency Situations the placement of civil defense posts in the settlements of the Syunik region and the issues related to the Goris-Sisian road segment, as road closures frequently occur during the winter months. A new neighborhood is being built for families in Shurnukh who lost their homes, and they will receive state support until their houses are constructed,” Gukasyan stated in an interview with Armenpress.
