Part of the Funds Transferred in Soldiers' Names Has Been Embezzled: Complaints Filed with the Police

After the war, complaints have been lodged with the police regarding Araqsya Hovhannisyan, who provided financial support to wounded soldiers, claiming that she embezzled a portion of the funds transferred from the diaspora in the names of heroes.

"We have received a request from a citizen regarding this issue at the Malatya police station, and an investigation is currently underway," said Zardand Gabrielyan, head of the media relations department of the Armenian police, in a conversation with Lurer.com.

The matter arose when a citizen who contacted the police on February 5 reported that his son had been wounded during the war and was being treated at the "Astghik" medical center, where relatives of his former husband were illegally photographing the child and posting it online to earn money.

Malatya police have determined that A. Hovhannisyan, a friend of the citizen who approached them, embezzled funds by making an announcement on social media under the pretext of providing assistance to the soldier. During the preparation of materials by a police officer, it was found that a user named HzorHayastan.am had posted an announcement on January 7 on the internet with a photo of Arman Khanvelyan, including a bank account for gathering funds.

It is noteworthy that Araqsya Hovhannisyan has denied committing fraud, stating that certain individuals are manipulating her name. However, parents of the injured soldiers continue to spread information online, claiming, for instance, that they received 150,000 drams instead of 150,000 rubles.
