Rustam Badasyan Discusses Opportunities for Joint Reform Efforts with Civil Society Representatives
The Minister of Justice, Rustam Badasyan, met with several representatives of civil society on February 12 to discuss a wide range of issues related to cooperation. This information was reported by the Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Justice of Armenia.
Participants in the meeting included Deputy Minister Kristine Grigoryan, the President of the NGO "Protection of Rights Without Borders" Arax Melkonyan, Deputy Director of the "Open Society Foundations – Armenia" NGO Davit Amiryan, the head of the "Helsinki Civil Assembly Vanadzor Office" Arthur Sakunts, President of the "Helsinki Association" Nina Karapetyants, and the programs coordinator of the "Civil Society and Development" NGO Daniel Ioannisyan.
During the meeting, the progress of reforms initiated in the justice sector was discussed, as well as the problems that have arisen during these processes due to both objective and subjective reasons. The concerns of civil society organizations regarding judicial reforms and the need for constitutional guarantees for their resolution were also addressed.
