Adam Schiff Demands Return of Armenian Prisoners from Azerbaijan
US Congressman Adam Schiff has stated that it has been nearly three months since the signing of a trilateral statement, which, while it momentarily ended the war unleashed by Azerbaijan and Turkey in Artsakh, has seen its terms disregarded. Three months later, Azerbaijan refuses to return Armenian prisoners, including both servicemen and civilians.
According to Schiff, the United States must resume work with the Minsk Group to demand self-determination and peace for the people of Artsakh, with an immediate priority on the return of all prisoners of war.
“In the United States Congress, I will work with my colleagues to implement serious sanctions against Turkey and Azerbaijan for their illegal aggression against Artsakh. American policy must return to where it should be: to defend human rights and democracy,” the congressman noted on his Facebook page.
