61 Hectares Cleared in Nagorno-Karabakh, About 250 Calls on Missing Persons
In Nagorno-Karabakh, a hotline created to gather information about the missing participants of the conflict received around 250 phone calls. According to the Russian news agency TASS, citing a statement from the Russian Ministry of Defense, Russian peacekeepers have conducted over 1900 meetings to clarify details.
“Since the launch of the hotline, 248 phone requests have been received. To verify information about the missing participants of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, officers of the Russian peacekeeping forces have held 1936 meetings with citizens,” the military department's statement said.
The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that the ceasefire regime is being maintained along the entire contact line. With the escort of Russian peacekeepers, more than 1300 refugees returned to their former places of residence in just one day. The total number of people returned to Nagorno-Karabakh during the peacekeeping mission has reached 33,235.
Additionally, it is noted that in one day, engineering reconnaissance and demining work have been carried out along the power line towers of the Stepanakert-Shushi road. “An area of 3.4 hectares and a road 2.2 kilometers long have been cleared, and 96 explosive devices have been detected and removed for destruction. Overall, 61.27 hectares, 20.8 kilometers of road, 108 buildings, and 4 social infrastructure facilities have been cleared during demining operations in Nagorno-Karabakh, with 1251 explosive devices found,” the statement said.
Furthermore, restoration of vital engineering communications continues in the areas affected by hostilities involving Russian peacekeepers, and a mobile military hospital of the Russian Ministry of Defense is organizing consultations for the local population. A second hospital is operational in Martakert.
