We will build 16 km of water lines by the end of the year, irrigating nearly 400 hectares of agricultural land, says Tavush governor
Tavush Governor Hayk Chobanyan wrote on his Facebook page: “Strategic direction – development of irrigation infrastructure – Armenia’s water resources must serve Armenia. This issue has been discussed extensively, especially after the July battles. At my request and with justifications, the Hovnanian Foundation, the Round Table Foundation, the Guardian Foundation, Lilia Shakaryan, and Anya Terkoht supported the construction of Tavush’s irrigation systems, which will allow us to build 16 km of water lines by the end of the year, irrigating and improving over 400 hectares of agricultural land. The programs must continue with great momentum. We plan a total of 76 projects, of which 15 will focus on reservoir construction. The impact of irrigation is manifold on agricultural yields, farm profitability, processing opportunities, and economic activity. It also holds significant environmental and strategic importance.”
