Armen Sarkissian's Office Responds to Misinformation in Various Media
The President of the Republic, as previously reported, has traveled to Moscow for a private visit. There was never any official meeting planned, so no agreements on such a meeting could be discussed. This information comes from the public relations department of the President's office.
"Continuing meetings with the Armenian communities of the Diaspora, President Armen Sarkissian met with representatives of the Armenian community in Moscow. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a limited number of people were invited to the meeting held at the main church of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Russia and New Nakhichevan. All invitees—around thirty individuals—attended the meeting. Participants wanted to hear directly from the President of Armenia about the latest developments around Artsakh and the situation in Armenia. During an open and direct conversation that lasted three hours, there was an honest exchange of ideas, and various questions were directed to the President, to which Sarkissian provided detailed responses. Complete official information about the President's meeting will be provided.
Some media outlets have spread fictitious and completely unrelated disinformation regarding the President's visit to the church and the meeting. We urge that during these difficult and sensitive times, false and fabricated information be avoided," the statement said.
A source from NEWS.am in Moscow reported that the President's meeting with the Armenian community took place near the Armenian church in Moscow. Initially, all prominent Armenian businessmen and representatives declined to participate in a meeting with the President, and no more than 20-30 people attended. When entering, the Armenians standing outside shouted
