Covid-Safety Regulations Established for Funeral Service Providers
Covid-safety regulations have been established for organizations providing funeral services. This was announced by the Health and Labor Inspection Body of Armenia.
It is stated that for the funeral service organizations, the director assigns a responsible person who ensures proper supervision of the adherence to sanitary regulations throughout the organization’s premises, as well as the availability of necessary items, materials, and facilities.
At the main entrance of the location designated for funeral and burial services, sanitation stations with at least 70% alcohol-based disinfectant will be provided near restrooms and separate sinks.
The designated area for funeral and burial services will ensure the availability of handwashing facilities with running water, elbow, foot, or sensor-operated taps, soap, and, where that is not feasible, at least 70% alcohol-based disinfectant for hand sanitization.
During the washing process after the burial, hands should not be dried with common towels.
Proper natural ventilation will be ensured in the area designated for funeral services, with at least three air changes per day, lasting 8-10 minutes each.
Surfaces in the area designated for funeral services will be disinfected at least twice a day using disinfectants based on 70-90% alcohol or other approved solutions. Disinfection activities will be recorded in a designated logbook.
Participants in the funeral and burial services are required to avoid physical contact (such as hugging, kissing, or shaking hands), wear masks, and maintain distance from each other whenever possible. No more than 60 people should participate in the funeral and burial services.
Norms have also been established for workers concerning daily temperature checks and measures to be taken in case of coronavirus-related symptoms.
