The Preservation of Monuments and Holy Sites in Nagorno-Karabakh is Crucial, Says Putin
The humanitarian efforts of Russia must be directed towards the benefit of both the Armenian and Azerbaijani peoples. This was stated today by Russian President Vladimir Putin during a meeting on the issues of the peacekeeping mission in Nagorno-Karabakh.
He also addressed the preservation of holy sites and monuments, emphasizing that, "The issue of preserving monuments and holy sites in Nagorno-Karabakh is of paramount importance. In addition to UNESCO, UNICEF should also be involved in this work," he said.
The Russian president also noted that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has promised to ensure unhindered access to the areas of the monuments and holy sites in Nagorno-Karabakh.
