We Condemn the Vandalism of the Green Church in Shushi by Azerbaijan - Mother See

The Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin's Information System has presented a statement from the Department of Spiritual-Cultural Heritage of the Mother See concerning the recent vandalism of the Green Church of St. John the Baptist in Shushi by Azerbaijan. The statement reads:

“We strongly condemn the vandalism against the Green Church in Shushi, St. John the Baptist, carried out by Azerbaijan. Such behavior towards spiritual and cultural values is a continuation of Azerbaijan’s decades-long activities against Armenian culture. By attempting to erase the traces of Armenian culture from the lands of Artsakh, there is also an effort to eliminate the factual basis of our homeland's historical ownership.

We call upon the international community and relevant organizations to condemn such barbarism perpetrated by Azerbaijan against the church in Shushi.”
