Moscow Accepts Baku's Words on Acknowledging Guilt and Apologies: RF MFA
Moscow has qualified the statement by the Azerbaijani ambassador in Russia, Polad Bulbuloglu, regarding the downing of a Russian helicopter in Armenian airspace as a "major mistake," claiming that "anything can happen in war." According to reports from the Interfax agency, officials from the Russian Foreign Ministry (RF MFA) conveyed this to journalists.
“This is a major mistake. If Russia were guided by the principle of 'everything is fair in war,' then the response would be devastating. Moscow has accepted Baku's words regarding acknowledging guilt and issuing apologies,” stated the RF MFA.
The ministry emphasized that Moscow expects the swift implementation of President Aliyev's promises regarding conducting an investigation and punishing those responsible. “We proceed from the premise that the Azerbaijani side will no longer allow ambiguous statements concerning this tragic incident,” announced the RF MFA.
