Stepanakert, Martuni, and Askeran Would Have Been Captured, Thousands of Soldiers Would Have Remained Blockaded
The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, stated during a recent Facebook live broadcast that Stepanakert would have been left undefended if military operations had continued. There was a high probability that Stepanakert, Martuni, and Askeran would have been captured, causing our 6th defensive positions to be encircled, leaving thousands of soldiers in a state of blockade.
“There would have been a complete collapse. This decision was made based on that assessment. It is not coincidental that during these days, soldiers on the front lines are sending video messages where they support the decision made. This is because they have seen and understood the situation on the ground, no matter how bitter it is,” Pashinyan said.
