The Ministry of Social Affairs Collaborates with the Ombudsman; Batoyan Unaware of Tatoyan's Non-Collaboration Statement
The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of Armenia is collaborating with the Ombudsman, confirmed Minister Zarouhie Batoyan during a briefing with journalists, responding to the statement made by Armenian Ombudsman Arman Tatoyan.
“I don’t know why he made such a statement,” noted Batoyan. According to her, they have cooperated with the institution like all other government bodies and are, in fact, collaborating more closely because they share more common ground, especially in terms of protecting citizens' rights.
The declaration of non-collaboration, according to the minister, does not reflect reality. Whether steps will be taken in response remains to be seen, as Zarouhie Batoyan stated that she could not comment on that at the moment.
It should be recalled that Arman Tatoyan recently made a post on Facebook, stating: “I demand that the heads of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs and other responsible personnel who are directly involved in ensuring social support for people at this time to recognize their constitutional obligations toward the Ombudsman and the seriousness of their own status, to eliminate irresponsible attitudes, and to ensure full collaboration with our staff.”
