Photo of Downed Turkish UAV in Syria Presented as Armenian Aircraft, Information Verification Center Reports
On October 29, Azerbaijan's Ministry of Defense announced that two Armenian Su-25 jets had been destroyed. This information was denied by Shushan Stepanyan, the spokesperson for the Armenian Ministry of Defense. However, the Azerbaijani side continued its propaganda in this direction and circulated images purportedly of an Armenian downed aircraft on social media.
The "Information Verification Center" examined the photographs and reported that they were taken in Syria, near the city of Saraqib. The image actually depicts a Turkish UAV, and the photo was first published back on March 1, 2020.
