Georgia's Foreign Ministry Reveals Who Flew from Tbilisi to Minsk on Government Plane

The Georgian opposition television channel "Mtavari" has reported on the departure of a government plane from Georgia to Belarus, which allegedly carried "eight representatives of the government," according to the eadaily.com website.

The source specifies that a Boeing aircraft of Georgian Airways, typically used for the transport of President Salome Zourabichvili, made a charter flight from Tbilisi to Minsk and back, remaining in Minsk airport for only an hour. An official from the presidential administration denied the reports, stating, "I categorically reject this news and emphasize that the president has not left Georgia, not even Tbilisi," in response to reports about the president leaving the country.

Additionally, speculation has surfaced that this flight may have brought Nikolai Lukashenko, the son of Alexander Lukashenko, to Tbilisi. As a result, representatives of the opposition have demanded that the authorities make an official announcement clarifying who was on board the aircraft.

Later, the Foreign Ministry of Tbilisi announced that Valeriy Kvaratskhelia, Georgia's Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Belarus, was the one who traveled to Minsk, having been in Georgia since August 6.

As previously reported, the government-owned aircraft flew to Minsk the day before; this plane is typically used by President Salome Zourabichvili. It was noted that the aircraft landed in the Belarusian capital around 7:00 PM and stayed at the Minsk airport for about an hour before returning to Tbilisi.
