Tehran's Attempts to Extend Arms Supply Embargo Will Fail, Says President Rouhani
The President of Iran, Hassan Rouhani, has declared that Washington's attempts to extend the arms supply embargo on Tehran will fail, as reported by PressTV.
According to him, the proposals by the United States to prolong the embargo violate UN Security Council Resolution 2231, which was enshrined in the 2015 nuclear deal. "We hope that the U.S. efforts will fail, and it will become a witness to its own isolation," Rouhani added.
He stated, "Until now, the U.S. has also failed politically and will again fail. The world now feels that Iran is a law-abiding and moral country that upholds its obligations."
Rouhani also noted that many countries in the region maintain close relations with Iran and that Iran's defensive force responds to regional interests. "We use our weapons and means for defense. The U.S. will owe Iran, and Iran will win," Hassan Rouhani concluded.
