Special Forces Fire at People Advising Protesters from Balconies in Minsk
In Minsk, special forces have started firing at individuals advising protesters from balconies. This was reported by Sputnik Belarus. The incident occurred on Zherzinski Avenue, near the Grushevka metro station.
“Special forces rushed towards the gathered crowd. Protesters began to flee. Residents from the balconies of nearby buildings started shouting where the protesters could hide, in response, special forces fired several times in the direction of the residents with pump-action weapons,” the news outlet reported.
It is important to note that the situation in Belarus has been tense following the presidential elections. For three consecutive nights, clashes have occurred during protests against the election results. Over 250 people have been hospitalized after the demonstrations, and more than 6,000 protesters have been arrested. Opposition candidate Svetlana Tikhanovskaya has left the country, calling for the protests to cease.
