Violation of Provisions on Prohibition of Mass Events
The Food Safety Inspection Body of Armenia conducted intensified inspections in Yerevan and the regions during the weekend. Enhanced monitoring activities are frequently carried out on weekends, and each subsequent observation indicates a significant decrease in previously recorded issues.
Problems have been identified during constant monitoring of food chain organizations both in the capital and the regions. In cafes and other public food establishments, the main violations have been related to the accurate filling of disinfection and temperature measurement logs. Operators assure that disinfection is being carried out properly, yet some negligence is observed in the completion of the logs.
A night inspection on a Saturday in Yerevan’s nightclubs and cafes revealed non-compliance with the decree on not holding mass events. Issues have been recorded in the implementation network, including violations related to temperature measurement, disinfection log records, use of disinfectant solutions, and improper wearing of masks, among other issues.
Based on the violations registered by the Food Safety Inspection Body (FSIB) inspectors, several suspension requests will be sent to the governor. Although it is evident that operators are now more aware and therefore more law-abiding and diligent regarding the sanitary and hygiene rules set by the governor, the FSIB continues to strongly urge strict adherence to safety norms aimed at preventing the spread of the pandemic.
