‘Jnews’: Who is Ultimately Right in the Heated ‘Battles’ Between Grisha Tamrazyan and Smbat Gogyanyan? Tracing the Administrative Inquiry
On July 16, ‘Jnews’ newspaper reported that once the report on the work done in the education sector was completed during a cabinet meeting led by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, he initiated an administrative inquiry. According to our sources, Pashinyan is trying to determine who is right and who is wrong in the heated ‘battles’ between Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Grisha Tamrazyan and Chairman of the State Committee of Sports Smbat Gogyanyan.
During the discussion that day, Pashinyan inquired whether it would be possible to dismiss the official for abuse of authority in accordance with the law at the conclusion of the administrative inquiry. The Prime Minister's office responded that a disciplinary sanction could be possible, but they did not rule out the possibility of dismissal as well. As is known, the Prime Minister has not signed Smbat Gogyanyan’s application for dismissal since May.
Yesterday, throughout the day, we attempted to obtain comments from the individuals mentioned, but to no avail. Grisha Tamrazyan also did not respond to phone calls. Our calls were also left unanswered by the Chief of Staff of the Government of Armenia, Eduard Aghajanyan, and his deputies.
