Georgia Opens Borders to 18 Countries
The Government of Georgia continues to publish the list of countries for which Georgia is currently open. According to Aliq.ge, it was previously announced that entry has been allowed for individuals holding citizenship or residency rights from Germany, France, Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia. They can reach Georgia through direct flights.
The Georgian government has also permitted the entry of citizens and residents from 13 European countries; however, a mandatory 14-day quarantine will be required for them. The list includes Spain, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Greece, Sweden, Croatia, Italy, Cyprus, Slovenia, and Iceland.
Before arriving in Georgia, Europeans must fill out a special form detailing their travel over the last two weeks and provide contact information. Negotiations are already underway with European airlines to restore air connectivity. The government’s statement indicates that the list of countries will be regularly updated.
The mandatory quarantine also remains in effect for Georgian citizens returning to their homeland. The procedures for business visits have also been clarified. Businesspersons can come to Georgia from any country by paying for either the 14-day quarantine or the cost of a PCR test every 72 hours during the two-week stay.
